There are so many things that combine to make this such an overall amazing picture.
So much work has been put into adding and perfecting details, the materials used for one, are all a range of different textures, with the silky gauze hanging delicately in contrast with the harsh shine of the hard rose corset. There is a wonderful contrast just between the use of black and red throughout the outfit and background, creating the typical whimsical and slightly surreal sense that is expected of Alice in Wonderland type artworks.
The pose is more sexual and feminine than that usually used in more Red Queen tribute works, and this makes the work far more interesting in it's interpretation of the evil, yet seductive character. Again, the hairstyle is elaborate and extremely detailed, coloured and shaped to fit perfectly into the settings. The sharp black points at the tip of the crown add to the sense of danger and my favourite part is the face; the flawlessness in the pale skin and the striking star give an almost falsely innocent expression to the character, despite the other clues present pointing to the contrary.
Overall, this artwork has managed to go beyound the cliched and overused idea of "dark wonderland characters", adding extra dimension to a famous character and presenting it all with extreme precision and quality. Beautiful art and great talent.
