The look

Hi Ophelia,
It's a nice shot, the skin tone is good and I love the colouring, but two things bother me slightly, if I'm being picky (which is the point of a critique after all <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)"/>
1/ The right eye is half shaded, which can look good, but on this occasion I find slightly 'wrong', either it is visible or it isn't. Not a biggy though.
2/ The picture is deliberately cropped with you low in the frame to show off the hair styling. But because not all of the hair is shown, it just makes you look off-set slightly. If the hair is going to get cropped anyway, you may as well be more central, or include the chest area to balance it out. Perhaps even switch to a landscape shot and have you staring out into nothing but a rich velvety nothingness.
3/ The only other thing that I would have experimented with (and maybe you did) is the background. It's nice that it is almost the same colour as your hair. It stops the hair from being too dominant, but I wonder if maybe a weak back light might be interesting just to bring you out of the background a bit? Just a thought.
