so... I actually found this, while I looked through the favorites of a friend...
and I found this.

The first thing, that came to my mind was, that she looks to mature, to fit the image of Arielle.
But then I came to think of it... Arielle, the little mermaid, in fact was a woman who took a difficult and dangerous decision. She was ready to sacrifice her voice and take the risk of dying in the end.

That's no decision for a child to take.

So, that might be the more realistic way of depicting her.

My thoughts this far.
About the whole picture itself, on an artistic level:
The only thing that bothers me a bit are her lips. They stand out too much, some how. They give her that impression of a grown woman.
It's not particularly bad, I just think, that it doesn't quite fit.

The rest is beautiful.
Her hair seems like an endless ocean. It's curly and shows the life and energy in it's color. It's a color that speaks for itself.
Being a symbol for the wild, the unknown, the sexy and untamed. It brings out a contrast to that girly-princess image of the little mermaid.

Then, the dress, with that white, creamy color. It reminds me of the foam crowning the waves of the sea.
Also, it's like a wedding dress, or simply a depiction of the purity, that comes with the fact of being a mermaid. (Mermaids have an aspect of purity and the need to be released of their nature)

Again, it builds a contrast, since she looks so mature, yet she wears a dress of purity.

Beautiful to look at, nice if you think about it, since it may have a deep meaning standing behind it.

So... Well. Arielle has grown up.
